Laurence is head of game design at Frontier Developments. He started his gaming career with Frontier in 2002 and since then has worked as lead designer on multiple projects, from Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-rabbit through Kinect: Disneyland Adventures and on to Elite Dangerous. In 2019 he moved from his role as game director on Elite to head of design. In this role he supports and manages a team of around forty game designers across multiple projects. His role focuses on developing the team and the Individuals in it.

Striving for excellence in our communication, collaboration and design, breaking down silos between projects and departments, evolving and adapting to the ever changing landscape. In this he feels that there is a lot to gain from deeper collaboration across industry and academia.
