Mark Taylor

Mark Taylor is Professor of Quantitative Social Science at the University of Sheffield, and leads on research on the arts, culture and heritage sectors at the Creative Industries Policy & Evidence Centre. He’s led the UK Games Industry Census since its initiation in 2019, having authored reports on all three editions of the Census. He’s interested in social inequalities in culture and creative work, particularly games, and he’s one of the authors of Culture Is Bad For You (Manchester University Press 2020/2025). He got into Hades in 2026 and it’s going very poorly.
