I am the Co-founder and Business Manager at South Westerly Games - a micro indie studio based in Hastings that we started as the springboard from which to launch our first game, NINE ROUNDS RAPID. My relatively recent pivot into the games industry was preceded by a 20+ year career in Education, of which I loved every minute. I am delighted to be a 2026 Ambassador for Safe In Our World and am very proud to represent this amazing charity on its mission to create and foster worldwide mental health awareness within the video game industry.

A Holistic Approach to Supporting Mental Health in the Games Industry.
Having open conversations around mental health helps to create a positive culture around mental well-being. This session will explore the importance of eliminating the stigma surrounding mental health by raising awareness and promoting regular conversation around the topic. It will give strategies to help employers understand how to support their staff’s mental health and offer staff ways to feel supported and safe to talk about their mental health. A positive and practical continuum of ideas and resources will be given throughout to support the talented individuals who work to create the games that we love.
