My name is Hayley and, officially, I am the Studio Welfare Manager at FuturLab. I started back in 2018 and over the years, I have shaped a role that centers around helping our team feel content, supported, and celebrated in the workplace. As a working Mum of two running a side hustle dance business, I know a thing or two about overwhelm and, in the past, I’ve had my own personal challenges with post-natal depression, anxiety and burnout. My focus on wellness at FuturLab started when I became a Mental Health First Aider in 2019, skills that I’d later put to greater use during the pandemic. It quickly became apparent that I was more than a Studio Coordinator, I was Studio Mum, and from that point on found myself gravitating more towards an emotionally supportive role within the team. Since I joined, we have grown from 16 employees to over 100, switched from an in-person studio to a remote-first one and let’s not forget the phenomenon that is PowerWash Simulator! I’m excited to share with you, my story. How I have embodied our company values of humility and kindness and strived for better mental health advocacy at FuturLab.
