Develop:Brighton 2025 concluded last week drawing 5,547 game developers, publishers, and industry professionals from around the world. This figure represents a 6% increase from 2024 and set a new attendance record for the conference. In addition, 2,673 meetings were scheduled through the event’s professional matchmaking platform, Meet@Develop, setting another record from previous years.
The conference hosted industry icons and studio leaders who shared insights and inspiration from their careers. Their excitement for both the conference and awards reflected the unique energy that Develop:Brighton is known for.
“I've really felt honoured being invited,” said Sam Lake, Creative Director at Remedy Entertainment. “I'm loving the feeling of people interacting and the sense of community... Even if this is my first Develop, it's not going to be my last.”
“It's been remarkable how friendly, accessible and un-egotistical this event is,” commented Tara Mustapha, Founder & CEO of Code Coven. “It's been wonderful to talk to all sorts of developers, whether they're senior level devs or people who are new and just starting on their journey. It's felt just like a warm catch up with friends.”
“Develop is a great combination of panels and talks where you learn a lot of information, but what's also great is the opportunities to network & meet new people... you end up meeting a lot of people you might not have had the opportunity to meet & that is very uplifting.” added Jane Perry, award-winning actor.
Develop:Brighton returns in 2026 to the DoubleTree by Hilton Metropole from Tuesday 14 – Thursday 16 July, with the Develop:Star Awards taking place on Wednesday 15 July.
