Game Republic is the largest games industry network and trade body in The North of England with over 2000 developer members, studios, educators and service providers from The North, the UK and beyond. Game Republic runs the Great Northern Games Discord with over 1000 members and is establishing the Northern Games Office which will form a central information resource for the games industry. The network is privately funded through memberships and sponsorships and continues to grow year on year supporting success and growth with a simple mission "More business for our members".
Established in 2003 by game studios, Game Republic is an award-winning network that runs at least 12 events every year including:
GaMaYo with over 40-70 new games on show each year with publishers, platform-holders and investors,
Game Republic New Horizons which this year includes a keynote from Ken Kutaragi, Father of PlayStation
the Game Republic Student Showcase and Careers Conference,
the Game Republic Awards and more.
The organisation provides business development support for game developers, publishers and investors, leads trade missions and curates events and festivals for private and public sector organisations. Game Republic advocates for the games industry and works with industry partners and bodies, Governmental agencies and organisations to create opportunities for the sector. Game Republic hosts events including the Indie Game Summit and the Investment Summit at MCM Comic Con and Game Republic zones at consumer shows such as MegaCon Live.
