Event organisers Tandem Events have today announced that Lisa Opie, Managing Director at Ubisoft Reflections and Ubisoft Leamington, is the latest keynote speaker for Develop:Brighton 2022.
Previously Managing Director of BBC Studios, Lisa’s Develop:Brighton 2022 keynote - titled: Building a Creative Culture, Together - will reflect on her time so far at Ubisoft and the importance of building an inclusive studio culture where every perspective is valued.
The session will include practical tips around:
Ubisoft Reflections (based in Newcastle) and Ubisoft Leamington (Leamington Spa) combine over 35 years of award-winning, game-making experience and heritage, under their collective belts, from Driver to The Division, Grow Home to Ghost Recon, and Atomega to Assassin’s Creed.
“I am thrilled to be delivering a keynote at this year’s Develop:Brighton,” said Lisa. “I’ll be talking about my first year as Managing Director of Ubisoft's two HD studios in the UK, sharing some of the things I've learnt, highlighting some of the initiatives we’ve put in place to make sure our studios are as inclusive and creative as they can be, and reflecting on some of the things I think we can learn from other creative industries.
“I hope people will take away practical and actionable tips alongside some fresh ideas.”
Lisa will be joined at this year’s Develop:Brighton by fellow headline keynote speakers including the creative leads from Arkane Lyon, who led by Studio Director and Co-Creative Director Dinga Bakaba will be discussing the development of award-winning DEATHLOOOP.
In addition, more than 40 speakers have been announced so far across eight conference tracks, including newly announced sessions from Google, Mediatonic and TT Games, as well as from games industry icon Rami Ismail.

I really like Develop, I really like the intimacy of it and I love the location.. there’s a good diversity of talks going on so there hasn’t been a time when there’s nothing I want to see.
Develop is a really great way to network, it’s also great for going to talks and finding that little tip that you didn’t know before and thinking – oh I’ll bring that back to the team!
I absolutely love coming to Develop, it’s a brilliant, brilliant conference – you just know you’re guaranteed to meet everyone.
Jo Twist, OBE
Develop:Brighton’s a great conference. It’s got a spread of people from all parts of the games industry talking about such a wide range of topics.
Develop:Brighton is especially unique - it’s by the seaside and there’s a lovely relaxed tone that goes with that. The talks are cool, the networking is cool and having the opportunity to catch up with people – that’s always the excitement for me!
Develop is the must-attend event for the games industry in the UK. It’s where we all come together and learn from each other. It’s the best way into the industry and it’s the best place to learn from your colleagues.
By coming to Develop what you get is the opportunity to network like you can’t in any other situation. Everyone knows everyone and it’s such a wonderful community feel.
There’s something creative about Brighton, so it’s the perfect place to have the conference.
I’ve been to every single Develop in the last 12 years. One thing you get here is networking - you will meet the most amazing individuals in the video games industry.
It’s really nice to see some of the younger people in our studio come to Develop, interact with other people in the dev community and make new contacts. I think it’s really important to learn from other people.
