NEW for 2014 Psychology stream in Evolve
10.15 - 13.00 Tues 8 July
Curated by Berni Good, Founder, Cyberpsychologist

Utilising psychology to inform the development and design of video games is gaining ground rapidly, largely because psychology is a science and can help developers understand the game players motivations and behavior as well as emotional responses from an objective perspective. The talks at this year’s Evolve psychology sub track will largely focus on how psychology can be used and applied to the industry from design to monetisation strategies within gamer consumer psychology as well as ethical issues around using this science in an applied way. The track will highlight real world examples of applied psychology within video gaming as well as picking apart the different methodological approaches to psychological research in gaming, with the aim of providing an overview of the methods available. After the presentations there will be a Q & A session with all three speakers.
